Freedom Way – A Festival of the Arts commenced with the inaugural event – The Way We Are which included performances by Afterlight and Akashita Pravin.
The festival was inaugurated by Trustees – Mr. Mrs. Merchant. The G.A. Kart which is a collection of the Gyaan Adab merchandise was also unveiled to the audience. The merchandise on the Kart will be up for sale all through out the month.
Selected handicrafts from Kutch and Handcrafted ceramic table ware by Veena Chandran were beautifully displayed on the Kart.
The first performance was by Afterlight – an acoustic/electric band whose music spanned across various genres like alternative rock, folk and pop, creating unique acoustic renditions of well-known artists. The band comprised of Mark D’Mello, Nikhil Aarons and Elston Braggs who also performed some of their original compositions.
The second performance was by Akashita Pravin who is an instrumentalist, composer, and singer-songwriter. Her music is rooted in the blues and classical, with variants of jazz, folk, rock, indie and pop. The artist performed her own compositions.
A charming little cafe was set up for the audience to walk in and enjoy some refreshments.
