The Landscape Art Of Hoshnar Kaikobad
In oils, acrylics and charcoal on paper and canvas
There is in the landscape art of Hoshnar Kaikobad a simple and evocative clarity that draws on the essential features of a place and elementally brings out its very essence. Whatever the medium he may use, the artist never loses touch with the reality he encounters – the spirit of a place, his internalising process and his ‘creation’. Because of the ‘realistic’ nature of his work, there may be a tendency in the viewer to reduce it to near photographic reproductions. However, it is not really so as each work is poignantly representational in a way that helps it go subtly beyond the realistic to the intuitive. Colours, lines, shades and tones turn the ordinary into the unusual in the deft hands of Hoshnar.
In this show, the artist captures the landscapes of various places in the country that he has travelled. He absorbs the scenic beauty of these places and recreates them through his artistry, capturing their magical moods. Here, you will experience the beaches of Maharashtra and Goa, the beautiful highlands of Ladakh and the mystical beauty of North-East India through works created in different mediums such as oils, acrylics and charcoal.
The quietly emphatic nature of each work sets it apart as unique in its own way.
