Neck deep in haiku, with her face barely visible, Kala Ramesh, an award winning poet will take you for a swim in a distant river in Japan. Come, enter the cool waters.

Through the cultural aesthetics of Japan and India, through poems and zen stories, Kala along with the noted bansuri player, Milind Date, will unfold dreaming spaces filled with imagery that captures moments that you know but never gave words to.

Kala Ramesh

An exponent of Hindustani Classical Music, Kala Ramesh was bitten by the haiku-bug in 2005. Since then, she has explored various genres like haiku, tanka, senryu, haibun and renku, (collaborative linked verses) and has been published in leading e-zines and anthologies. Editorial board — Take Five: The Best Contemporary Tanka 2008/2009/2010. Editor of Haiku and short verses —Muse India Deputy Editor-in-chief —World Haiku Review
She was the Festival Director of the 9th World Haiku Festival, (WHC) Bangalore, February 2008 and her book, Haiku was published by Katha, in 2010 . Her work is also featured in Haiku 21: An anthology of contemporary English-language haiku, edited by Lee Gurga and Scott Metz, published in 2011.
