1000 Cranes of Hope

and you will fly
all over the world.”
The origami crane has become an international symbol of peace through the inspiring life story of a young Japanese girl named Sadako Sasaki. The crane also represents good luck. The ancient Japanese tradition of senbazuru promises that a person who folds 1000 cranes will be granted a wish, such as long life or recovery from illness.
Walk into Gyaan Adab for a community event celebrating peace and hope with a 1000 cranes.
Discover Sadako Sasaki’s story and share your message through music, origami and graffiti art.
Learn to make peace cranes with an origami expert, paint graffiti with an artist and sing songs of hope in a jam session with musicians.
