Mi…Ghalib

On the occasion of Mirza Ghalib’s birth anniversary, Gyaan Adab presents Mi…Ghalib, a play that traces the journey of a young playwright who attempts to portray the life of Mirza Ghalib in his words. The great poet guides him on a spiritual journey full of verses, intoxication and conflict that seems to intertwine with the writer`s own. This play showcases a mixture of, inspirations for writing the play, Ghalib’s life, his poems, his confusions in life, the defeats faced by Ghalib and the writer and most of the pilgrims on the spiritual path, the art forms emerging from these frustrations and the same art forms posing as a distraction from the spiritual path, and the desolation faced as a result of all this. The writer and Ghalib seem distinct at times, at times co-travellers and at times united.
