Organised by Swapnil’s Performing Arts & Contemporary Ensemble (SPACE) & moderated by Ushamrita Choudhary, the panel of eminent dancers, choreographers and performers discussed how they bring their vision to life. The panel also spoke about the reform that a choreographic process can bring through lenses of personal growth, aesthetic transformation at a young age, sensitisation & socio-political reform that dance can trigger.
The panel discussion as part of the Avayava Dance Festival was of a high intellectual order. All the participants – Aparna Nagesh, Swapnil Dagliya, Tomas Danielis, Richard Causer and Parimal Phadke were brilliant and eloquent in putting forth their views about creative, classical, traditional, formal dance versus modern experimental, innovative, reformative dance. The moderator Ushamrita was equally forceful in steering the brain storming discussion.
I hope we members of Gyaan Adab will avail of another opportunity to view the dance performances by these talented artistes.
