In the first of its kind event in Pune, Gyaan Adab hosted CinePlay to celebrate World Theatre Day. CinePlay is a new genre that merges the power of cinema with the magic of theatre. CinePlay creates a new viewing experience for audiences and allows stories from theatre to break the constraints of economics, geography, language and accessibility. At Gyaan Adab, the first screening was ‘Dance like a Man’ written by celebrated playwright Mahesh Dattani. ‘Dance like a Man’ is the story of two Bharatnatyam dancers contrasted with that of their daughter, revelation of their dark family secrets and conflicts between generations. Viewers really appreciated the new genre and applauded the idea of bringing theatre screenings to different audiences.
