Gyaan Adab hosted The Rollin’ Canvas (TRC) which showcased “Passages”, a conceptual art abstraction on iconic books and characters by eight different artists.
Started by brushwork artist Pooja Shah in 2014, TRC mixes street-art with silhouettes to bring unique and custom-made paintings that are fun and memorable. The exhibition was an occasion to reminisce, reflect and cherish the written word and artists Pooja Shah, Tara Chandi and Rohit Ranade used their unique styles to create interpretative renditions of celebrated books and characters.
The fun and quirky artwork was appreciated for its literary references, distinctive styles and influences. The paintings in water colours, acrylics on canvas and 3D Art were based on classics like ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Red Riding Hood’, contemporary novels like ‘Metamorphosis’, ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ and comic book characters such as Asterix, Batman and Hobbes.
