At the event, Sampurna Chattarji revealed what goes on in her mind while she writes.She read from her volume of poems The Fried Frog, Space Gulliver and Sight May Strike You Blind. Responding to the the energy from the space and from all present, she moved away from the poems she regularly presents at similar events. Instead, she read poems which she claimed she had forgotten even exist. Poems that spoke of a mother-daughter relationship, the many shades of adolescent emotions, and of an alien who is also Sampurna’s alter ego.
The audience was glad that these poems re-emerged. Due to the sheer ability of Sampurna’s poems to strike a chord with the listener, they thoroughly enjoyed the event.
