The event displayed the marriage of two beautiful art forms– Indian classical dance and Japanese poetry.
The evening began with an interaction between the Poet Kala Ramesh and dancers Vrushali Chitaley-Lele, Dhanashree Pandit and Shruti Subhash. They discussed the nuances of Abhinaya and the versatility of Hasta Mudras and other movements.
This was followed by readings of haiku, senryu, tanka and haibun. Short dances interspersed the readings, only adding to the essence of the image created by the poems.
The themes that surfaced during the event were Child’s Play, the Banyan Tree, The Ganga and many more. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the show.
