Amble – Art exhibition by Ishita Dharap

Gyaan Adab showcased young artist Ishita Dharap’s work from 5-11 December. The exhibition titled ‘Amble’ is a series of abstract drawings of ink on paper. Through her art, Ishita attempts to capture the lucidity of the moment an image is conceived.
The opening night on Friday was tinged with excitement as artists, art patrons, family and friends gathered to view Ishita Dharap’s work. The viewing was followed by a discussion between Ishita and her mother, Sujata Dharap, who is also a well known artist. The interaction between the artists of two generations was illuminating and led to many animated discussions with the audience. Questions were raised about the process, form and image of an artist. The evening of art was complemented with tea and refreshments.
During the course of the week, various visitors dropped by to view the exhibition and admire Ishita’s work. The artist was present to answer questions and talk about her work with the patrons and other artists.
