World story telling day celebration at Yerwada Mohalla Library

A very novel initiative by Gyaan Adab

World Story Telling Day was conducted at Yerwada Mohalla.

Resource person Jyoti Kemkar was called to narrate motivational stories to the ladies of the mohalla. 30-35 ladies attended this story telling session. Nilofer – co-ordinator Mohalla committee from Gyaan Adab, gave information to the ladies about this World Story Telling Day.

Professional Story teller and social worker Jyoti Kemkar narrated 3 inspirational stories of successful women from humble background.
On the request of Naseema   Merchant – founder Gyaan Adab, girls from the Mohalla also came out with stories. A young girl (Nafisa) read out a Urdu story from a newspaper cutting. Afreen narrated one from Bodh Katha while Samina – from Alladdin

In an attempt to motivate the Mohalla ladies towards reading, Nilofer narrated a real story forwarded by Mr. Farook Merchant about a mother and daughter from Andheri answering S.S.C. exams together.
