The Immortal Music of Madan Mohan

Gyaan Adab hosted a fundraiser in the form of a music performance to help its sister organization, Nityaasha Foundation, provide aid to children with Type 1 diabetes.

Curated by trustees Farook and Nasima Merchant, the evening as the title suggests featured the immortal music of composer Madan Mohan. The evening was also a tribute to Lata Mangeshkar, as she often performed the songs composed by the artist of the evening.

Madan Mohan Kohli, better known as Madan Mohan, was born in Iraq on 25 June 1924. A popular Indian music director of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, he is particularly remembered for the immortal ghazals he composed for Hindi films. He passed away in Mumbai on 14 July 1975

Our artists for the evening were the incredible Dhanashree Ganatra on vocals, Darshana Jog on the keyboard and Apurv Dravid on the tabla.

Gyaan Adab will be back soon with more such performances. Stay updated with our events calendar by following us on Facebook and Instagram.
