ABOUT THE EVENT
The Kids’ Book Club met at Gyaan Adab on July 19th at 5 pm to discuss an award winning graphic novel called “Ghosts” by Raina Telgemeier.
We had a surprisingly lively discussion about familial bonds, chronic illness, death, ancestors, and the communication gap between parents and kids. Since it was a graphic novel we also had a chance to role play and enact pages of the book.
This story was an easy read but a complicated narrative with various interpretations.
Thanks to all the kids (and parents) who came this month. Next month we will be discussing freedom fighters (from and nation and any cause). Looking forward to the next book club meeting!
