The Book Club Pune met on Sunday, October 18th to discuss ‘Clueless in California’ by B.S.Prakash. The book was presented by Mukul Ahmad- a regular member of the Book Club.
‘Clueless in California’ was born as the author B.S.Prakash followed his curiosity. Working with the Indian Foreign Services led to him wanting to understand his surroundings better in USA. He was curious to understand the lives of Americans and Indians in America.
The book is divided into three sections and explores the idea of the enigmatic American, the enigmatic Indian and finally, delves into the authors experience as he tries to explain Indian society to Americans.

‘You don’t get cliches, sermons or pedantic analysis. What you get is a refreshingly different take on the oddities and complexities which make America — and India — unique,’ writes Vikas Swarup, the author of Q & A (filmed as Slumdog Millionaire) about Diplomat B S Prakash’s first book Clueless in California.
