Celebrating Rabindra Jayanti

Dina Das created an enchanting evening of Rabindra sangeet, dance and recitation – to celebrate the genius of the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

Rabindranath Tagore’s oeuvre has touched aspects of all our lives. Be it his stories, poems or dance dramas, his brilliance has inspired entire generations of his followers to appreciate the meaningful experience of the arts.

The programme for the evening had Dina Das’ co-singers Sutapa Ghodai, Sumita Guho, Achala Atreya and Ajay Rao as well as Manjari Maity who performed the Rabindra Nritya, depicting a story entirely through song and dance while Samiran Bhowmik recited a couple of Tagore’s famous poems. The beautiful evening was compered by Mita Banerjee and Supriya Banerjee.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Dina Das is a trained and dedicated singer in Hindustani classical, Rabindra sangeet, ghazals and bhajans. She began performing at the age of 4 and has conceived and organized several music ballets in the last 15 years. She has a Sangeet Pravakar from Prayag Sangeet Kala Institute, Allahabad and a Sangeet Visharad from Prachin Kala Kendra Institute, Chandigarh.
