A Dramatization of Ravindra Mathadhikari’s Marathi Poems
ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
Kollage is an entertaining medley of author/poet Ravindra Mathadhikari’s Marathi poems with a contemporary twist. Each poem is brought to life through dance movements, expressions, props and the Indian Taala system to suit its uniqueness. This is a creative piece of work produced by Artsphere Pune in collaboration with dancers from NaadPune, Aparna Gandhi and Varda Vaishampayan, along with Artsphere co-founder/dancer, Karishma Harlalka. The narration is done by Preetam Ranjana, mardala by Ramprasad Gannavarapu and music digitally created by Shantanu Rao.
ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
KARISHMA HARLALKA
Karishma, a dancer and Reiki practitioner, is a graduate in Applied Psychology from Delhi University and holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Pune University. She has been learning and performing dance since the age of 4. She has trained in Bharatanatyam and Folk under the tutelage of Ms. Suparna Sood, Smt. Rekha Chowdhary and Padmashree Geeta Chandran ji. She has also trained in Ballet under Mr Fernando Aguilera, and in Contemporary under Ms Swati Mohan, Ms Rajyashree Ramamurthi and under Sumeet Nagdev Dance Arts. She has also trained in Belly Dance and has attended numerous workshops in Salsa, Contact Improvisation, Kalaripayattu among many others, and is currently learning Ballet under Ms Pamela Alfaro.
APARNA GANDHI
Aparna Gandhi started her journey of exploring classical dance at the age of four, as a student of Acharya Guru Parvati Kumar. She learned Bharatanatyam from him for 13 years and on the way, became fascinated by Odissi. She has trained in Odissi under various gurus, including Guru Jhelum Paranjape, Smitalay, in Mumbai. She has also attended several workshops of Srjan, conducted by Late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, Sujata Mohapatra and Ratikanta Mohapatra, Sharmila Biswas and Nrityagram.
