An exhibition of art by Ann Delorme
This series is the result of the artist’s relationship with blank sheets of beautiful paper mounted on her easel. Forms are born beneath her sketch pencil as she traces lines around the sheet of paper. Interesting distortions are created of what she sees around her… illusions of the real substance of things, which she finds more real.
She works with aquarelle pencils and wax, acrylic paint and spray glaze to bring her illusions alive on paper. A narrative with words is visually integrated into the composition to give it a submerged otherness. Conceived in the subconscious, finding form on paper, her art is a powerfully internal expression of the world she encounters.
