Gyaan Adab in association with Tamaasha Theatre presented BLANK PAGE– An interpretation of contemporary Indian poetry through theatre, music & movement
Directed by Sunil Shanbag and conceived by Sapan Saran and Sunil Shanbag, it was basically a celebration of the spoken word through 55 minutes of theatre, music, and movement. Poems written in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Kashmiri by some of India’s finest contemporary poets were interpreted by a group of multi-talented performers. Poems by Adil Jussawalla, Arundhathi Subramaniam, Nissim Ezekiel and Meena Kandaswamy, among others, were interpreted by Tamaasha.
The cast of 11 set the stage of fire, bringing to life poetry that was above par and thought-provoking. An hour went away in such speed that at the end, a standing ovation was much needed.
Cast: Divya Jagdale, Hridaynath Jadhav, Maithily Bhupatkar, Natasha Singh, Nisha Dhar, Sapan Saran, Sonal Khale, Nikhil Murali, Sunil Shanbag.
