Gyaan Adab celebrated a day with Roald Dahl, a one-day workshop that paid tribute to Dahl’s magical characters. Children entered the world of The Witches, James with his Giant Peach, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Charlie Bucket and Mr. Willy Wonka with origami, cartooning, storytelling, treasure hunt and a movie screening.
Participants learnt how to make origami dragons and miniature paper witch claws with Sangram, our origami expert. They were also excited to draw characters from Roald Dahl’s books like ‘The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me’ and ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ with our cartooning experts Tara and Rohit.
With dramatic readings, our story telling team made Sophie and the Big Friendly Giant come to life. A treasure hunt of riddles and puzzles led to exciting discoveries and helped kids rediscover Dahl’s stories. The winners were given prizes to shape their own stories.
Children also enjoyed watching a screening of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) by Lost the Plot where parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other grown-ups attended. They were given state of the art wireless headphones for a completely outdoor immersive experience.
