For the Love of Jazz
July 3, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
‘If I am playing any music at all, it is jazz music.’
– Ginger Baker
The Pune Jazz & Blues Club is back again
with this month’s event – Jazz Vocal Groups!
Apart from melody and rhythm, harmony is the third dimension that adds body to the song and widens the spectrum of sound. With improvisation at the root of jazz, harmonies are provided by the instruments. Vocal group harmony in jazz however provides a new sound, adding to the excitement of jazz!
The focus of the programme will be an audio-visual presenting several vocal harmonic groups and illustrating their different styles as they sing popular standards.
Date: 3rd July 2016, Sunday. Time: 11AM – 1 PM. Entry Free
