Elvis sings the blues

Gyaan Adab invites you to listen to an evening of recorded music to remember the King of Rock and Roll!

While Elvis is famous for his Rock n Roll and soft romantic ballads, he sang a lot of blues, in the studio, rehearsals, and also at home. He was deeply influenced by the blues, right from his childhood in Tupelo, Mississippi and in fact, the first commercial song he ever recorded in Memphis, was the blues song “That’s All Right (Mamma)”. He recorded many blues songs throughout his career and we feature a few of these numbers, which are comparatively unknown, including some rare versions available only on the special collectors label FTD/ SONY and other sources.

Operating out of Pune and Mumbai, the official Elvis Presley Fan Club of India (EPFC) was founded informally in the early 60s’. Over the years, the club has organised several concerts and shows. The Club meets informally at least four times a year and also on special request. Those interested can contact us to set up private music or movie session.
