‘PASSAGES’ – an art exhibition

Remember the child who read a book hiding under her blanket with a torch, the one who hid his story book inside a text book during class, or the one who just wouldn’t put down the book even at the dining table? So many books and how they have enthralled us. They were certainly more than mere stories; books helped us fashion worlds we could dive into and wander endlessly.
In recent times, the growing popularity of the internet and digital media has widely influenced our lifestyles, replacing good old books. Mystery novels, comic books and magazines are just fondly remembered relics. The Rollin’ Canvas and associated artists have therefore come together to celebrate literature and all that it has given us.
“Passages”, a conceptual art abstraction on iconic books and characters is an occasion to reminisce, reflect and cherish the written word.

About The Rollin’ Canvas (T.R.C)
The Rollin’ Canvas is a brand started by brushwork artist Pooja Shah in 2014. TRC mixes street-art with silhouettes to bring unique and custom-made paintings that are fun and memorable. TRC uses a distinctive painting style which mashes various forms of art, a lot of colour, fun and silhouette style paintings to bring customised artwork that can be used anywhere and that can be painted on any surface. TRC also encourages other young artists and collaborates with them to promote the art culture in Pune.

About the Artists:
Pooja Shah is the founder of The Rollin’ Canvas. She has been painting for several years now, working with a unique style that now has become her signature. TRC’s work has been solidly appreciated, and Pooja has had a chance to contribute to important milestones in people’s lives. TRC’s paintings have been gifted for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions, which makes Pooja feel like she contributes directly to the lives of her work’s buyers.

Tara Chandi has always liked to work with varying textures and styles to create thought-provoking art. Tara’s work reflects the chaotic, quirky and lost references that she stumbles upon every day. She works with minimal colour schemes, geometric shapes and surrealism to narrate untold stories.

Rohit Ranade has been dabbling with various visual art forms since childhood. His preferred mediums are charcoal, pens and acrylic paints and he experiments with different art genres. As a comic book fan and game designer, Rohit’s art is influenced by street art, games and grunge.
