Gyaan Adab invites you to a two day theatre extravaganza featuring India’s leading contemporary playwright Mahesh Dattani, a Mumbai based unique mime act which was showcased at The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, 2015, and for the first time in Pune – screening of a Cineplay.

CINEPLAY – MAHESH DATTANI’S DANCE LIKE A MAN
Gyaan Adab will screen a cineplay for the first time in Pune. Cineplay is new genre of cinema, which merges the power of cinema and the magic of theatre.
Dance Like a Man, the story of Jairaj and Ratna, two Bharat Natyam dancers past their prime, is contrasted with that of their daughter Lata, who is on the brink of establishing herself as a brilliant dancer. Her imminent success creates tension and jealousy, and the audience is drawn into the dark secrets of family relationships and conflicts between generations.

MAHESH DATTANI AT GYAAN ADAB
Gyaan Adab is delighted to host the launch of, The Theatre Of Mahesh Dattani, a collection of essays edited and introduced by Mohini Khot.
The theatre icon himself will launch the book and be in conversation with Mohini Khot about his theatre and creative quest. Selected contributors will share their views through presentations, enriched by dramatic audio-visual sequences from Mahesh Dattani’s plays.

A horror comedy based on Ruskin Bond’s Rebecca
About Mime’Ers – Speaking is strictly against their religion, but since words happen to be the way of this world, they are bound to commit this blasphemy at times. To put it precisely they are a 2 men and 1 woman recipe to entertainment with large portions of laughter, foolery and chaos. They recently opened their act Love- “Not at First Sight” at the Kala Ghoda Festival to rave reviews.
