Bringing alive Randhir Khare’s new novel STRANGERS ON THE SHORE

The programme features the voices of Saurabh Dalmiya, Priyanka Menon, Sumedh Sarojini and Neeti Pherwani who enthrall with their thespian skills, playing intriguing and hilarious characters shaded with dark humour, whilst the mood of the evening and the novel is set by the gifted musical trio consisting of Sandhya D’mello (vocals), Aubrey Dias (keyboards) and Sunil Rodgers (clarinet/sax/flute).

The Novel
The tender, quaintly amusing and hysterical lives of ordinary people who experience the extraordinary in their everyday lives. Their paths cross and re-cross, dramatically negotiating each other and the myriad lives who touch them, weaving an intensely emotional and psychological story about people who find themselves and lose themselves in an effort to discover who they really are.

Randhir Khare, renowned poet, writer and folklorist deftly lays bare the average Indian’s obsession with life-long family ties and the tendency to blame parents for any failure that visits his or her life. His robust and compelling fictional narrative is expressed through brilliantly created voices that touch chords deep within.
