Amble – A series of ink drawings on paper

Celebrating the Unrehearsed Moments in Image Making

Amble is a series of abstract drawings in ink on paper. The artist, Ishita Dharap, attempts to capture the lucidity of the moment an image is conceived. The spontaneity of creation is driven by a restless, volatile energy. To hold it still and recreate the aesthetic decision is the challenge she celebrates as an image-maker.

Ishita Dharap:

Ishita Dharap studied interdisciplinary design at the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore and graduated with a Diploma in Art and Design in 2012. Since then, she has been drawing, painting and freelancing in graphic design and illustration. She has had one dual show with her mother, artist Sujata Dharap, titled ‘Mother-Daughter I’, earlier this year.

Ishita has been drawing and painting since she was a child. Drawing has always been her way of responding and reacting to the things happening around her. She is most at ease with ink on paper and so it was through this medium that she chose to explore and experience the nuances of how she creates her images.
