ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The purpose of the workshop is to give an introductory training in the art of spoken word poetry. The participants will be trained in writing and performing poetry. The curriculum consists of –
- An introduction to spoken word poetry
- Understanding and using poetic devices
- Sound in poetry
- Using humour in poetry
- The basics of stage performance,
- Developing your own, unique stage presence
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Shantanu Anand is a spoken word poet, and is the co-founder of Airplane Poetry Movement, and organisation that provides training and platforms for spoken word poets in India. He has performed poetry at TEDx Bangalore, TEDx St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, and at the Times Lit Fest, Delhi. He has had his work published in The Bombay Review International Anthology of Short Fiction and Poetry. He has conducted spoken word poetry workshops in over 50 colleges across the country, and focuses on creating a high-energy atmosphere, where workshop-participants can express themselves freely and without fear.
