Gyaan Adab in its endeavour to celebrate the arts and literature were proud to present Ek Mulakat Dr. Meera Kant Ke Saath. This program was conducted on September 11th, 2021 to celebrate Hindi Diwas.
In conversation with Namita Kichlu, our author for the evening, Meera Kant spoke in great detail about the various characters and narratives that she has penned down over the past two decades. An author known for her initiative to bring the marginalised to the centre-stage, Kant has contributed greatly to the fabric that is Hindi literature.
The strife torn woman in search of her identity and the less fortunate, left out of the main stream of the social hubble bubble, is a recurring theme of her literature. Meera Kant’s creative journey has traversed the undulating inner world of the ever struggling woman and the stumped ordinary mortals, bereft of their right to live with dignity. The text and subtext of her writings give vent to the unsung and unheard dirge of the hapless miserable, which in turn transforms itself into haunting reverberations in the psyche of the readers.
