ABOUT THE EVENT

This month’s book which was up for discussion was My Name Is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout. The session was led by Mohini Khot.

Mohini Khot began the session by introducing the author. Further, she informed the audience that the book’s cover was criticized for being plain and boring. For the reader’s information, the cover has a picture of the Chrysler building. Mohini was opposed to this opinion. She explains that the Chrysler building is the view that protagonist has while she lays in a hospital bed for many days. This little piece of information instantly engaged the audience for the entire session, which was followed by an active Q&A session.
