Modikhanyachya Don Goshti

23rd September 2016, Friday

It was an interesting documentary which explored a neighborhood in Pune through the eyes of two artists. Sudhir Waghmare faithfully captured the everyday life of his neighborhood, New Modikhana. His canvases revealed the rich and overlapping layers of the social and political history of the place. In contrast, his daughter Kranti’s quest for form was a reflection her response to the environment she grew up in. In an effort to expand the horizons of her personal experience as a student of art, she discovered more creative ways of collaboration with her community.
