The audience at the Center were awe-struck by Paarul Deshpande’s fierce performance of Ismat Chughtai’s story “Bhabhi”. Qubool Hai captures the reality of society and the way the patriarchal system moulds it. The play was followed by a talk on Rajender Singh Bedi, a contemporary of Ismat Chughtai by Mrs. Nasima Merchant. Her talk highlighted some of the major aspects of Bedi’s writing, his famous works and the awards that he received. The audience also enjoyed a viewing of ‘Rehmaan ke Joote’ – an emotional story by Rajender Singh Bedi.
