The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga

The White Tiger  by  Aravind Adiga

About the Novel:

The story of Balram Halwai, born in Gaya in Bihar, is the story of the white tiger- an animal that arrives once in a generation. For it is that difficult to break out of the cast of your caste, the darkness of debt and the mental conditioning of servitude to look beyond the life you have been born into in rural India. Juxtaposed against a rising India of information technology and call centers, the novel is a stark portrayal of racism, corruption, skullduggery and the desire for individual freedom. This debut novel won the Man Booker prize in 2008 and was made into a film for Netflix in 2021.
