About the Book: A collection of incredibly moving tales of love and heartbreak, The Other Woman brings together the many perceptions of love, lust, fidelity and the enigmatic “otherness” of all women. The book includes short stories by writers like Manto, Mahasweta Devi, Makarand Paranjape, Amrita Pritam and Kamleshwar.
About the Presenter: Monica Das was a senior faculty member in Economics at Gargi College, Delhi University. Her books have been published by Penguin and Harper Collins . Her particular interest lies in humanitarian concerns and gender issues.
She is an academic activist and a member of IAFFE, USA. She will talk on The socio economic status of women in India with a special focus on the literary portrayal of that status.
