May 23 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

  • About the Novel:

The Brothers Karamazov is an epic novel, which like Tolstoy's War and Peace turns the mirror upon the entire Russian society. Not equally interested in its depiction of high echelons of the nation, it is unparalleled in illuminating the "depths of the human soul." Although the focus is kept on Fyodor Karamazov and his three sons and their lady loves, the writer depicts people from many classes and many walks of life.

  •   About the Author:

In the golden age of Realist Fiction, Fyodor Dostoyevsky was the preeminent Psychological Realist, outstanding in his insight into disturbed and capricious characters.  Although he wrote several great novels including  Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamazov, his last novel was the most ambitious one.
