Apurva Bahadur takes us on a magical journey with an enlightening presentation on the
Indian Railways – showcasing a curated collection of photographs shot by him in scenic but remote locations around Pune.
Enriched with interesting details such as history, technology, cuisines, legends and
more, the presentation is certain to spark our imaginations and flag off a love affair with the Indian Railways.
India is blessed with a robust and vibrant railway system (the 4th largest in the world)
that forms the country’s dependable transport lifeline - often at the cheapest fares in the
world. Apurva Bahadur is a diehard admirer of this impressive, well-run system, and will be sharing his passion with us.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Apurva has covered the railway sections around Pune in great detail, over
dozens of visits. His special interest is study of the ancient railway infrastructure, some of which is mo
re than 150 trekking, hill-climbing, and study sessions of industrial archaeology. years old and still in active use,
while others may be abandoned, yet intact.His focus is capturing trains in action in the hinterlands. His rail fanning outings are a combination of photography, Apurva Bahadur is a committed railfan with a camera. Based
in Pune, Apurva has been shooting images of trains for over 25 years.
