Raat, Chand aur Gulzar

Rudyard Kipling once said, “Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind.” This has been well proved by poet and filmmaker Gulzar, who with his magical words has managed to intoxicate millions.

Gyaan Adab celebrates Gulzar’s 81st birthday in three mesmerising acts.
• Nitu, Deepesh and Meenal- three ardent Gulzar fans, will present a specially-crafted narrative of the poet’s life interspersed with an audio-visual presentation and couplets from the master’s stable.

• Debabatra Sinha will be belting out some of the maestro’s soulful compositions. The singer began training in classical music at the age of 8 and has continued his dedication to his art.

• The evening will conclude with a dramatic reading of Gulzar’s short story ‘Raavi Par’ by Nitu and Bansi Raina. Mr. Raina has been associated with theatre for the last 45 years.

Gulzar’s special way of touching the soul- through his simple tales of love and relationships in unique situations- makes him a master of his work. The evening promises to celebrate this aspect of his genius.
