POE – An Evening of Mystery and Terror

We invite you to an evening of mystery and terror to celebrate the birth anniversary of the master of the macabre – Edgar Allen Poe. To commemorate his contribution to gothic literature, Gyaan Adab is organizing an evening of theatre and poetry based on Poe’s stories. Delve into madness and mayhem with performance poetry – ‘The Raven’ by Chandrakant Redican, ‘The Bells’ by Apurv Inamdar and ‘The Bridal Ballad’ by Priyanka Menon. Get ready to experience thrills and chills with a theatrical display of beating hearts, ghost cats and conqueror worms!

‘Silently Screaming’ based on the ‘Tell-Tale Heart’ by Moonbeam Factory Theatre. The eye watches, watches and the heart beats, beats as you silently scream in vain.

‘The Black Cat’ by Orange Reason. An adaptation of Poe’s dark and creepy tale of a man haunted, tortured and destroyed by his cat, that was murdered by him.

‘The Conqueror Worm’, a dance drama by Conscious Care India. From beyond death Legeia cried, “Let the conqueror worm writhe through your perfect lives and feed sad music into your angel wings.”
