‘Pen…..People …..Performance’, a Theatrical Odyssey, is a recently launched book, that at one end traces the personal journey of the author Dr. Ajay Joshi, as he straddles diverse professions as a practicing dentist, freelance theatre Journalist and a PhD in theatre and at the other a selective compilation of over two decades of his writings on theatre, published in National and International media. With reviews and criticism, conversations, travelogues and reflections, this is an extensive collection, that churns up interesting experiences.

This programme captures the essence of the writer’s passion for theatre and what went into making of the book in a tete-e-tete, conducted by senior Journalist, Media person and a Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Triveni Mathur. The conversation will be followed by the author sharing some significant experiences he has had in his theatre engagements across the globe, captured in an audio-visual presentation of spectacular and fascinating visuals.

About the author: Dr Ajay Joshi is a practicing Dentist, with a PhD in theatre criticism, and Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication, having freelanced with major Indian and international newspapers, magazines and journals on theatre and culture. He has been involved in theatre festivals as media person, organiser, coordinator and jury. He has travelled to theatre festivals in India and to Italy, Georgia, Ankara and Sri Lanka in the capacity of international Jury and course conductor. He is the founder member of IAPAR (International Association of Performing Arts and Research), an active member of ISTR (Indian Society for Theatre Research) and a member of IATC (Indian Association of Theatre Critics) having presented numerous papers there. He has written extensively on theatre and published his work widely.
