Malhar- Day 2

REMEMBERING THE RAINS…

On the 18th evening, we bring you Pandit Kumar Gandharva’s Geet-Varsha and Kala Ramesh’s haiku, tanka and haibun. Haiku, a 400 year old art form from Japan is sweeping our country from Kashmir to Tamilnadu with its special subtle fragrances!
Rains have always caught our imagination. Being rooted in seasons and nature, it is not surprising that haiku captures the magic of our monsoon season in little poems!
Kala Ramesh well-known for her haiku, tanka and haibun has been instrumental in bringing school kids and college youth onto the haiku path. Neck deep in these Japanese poetry forms, her latest obsession is to paint city walls with haiku, and to help weave in a pause, a breather into our hectic lives!
