ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The program will be conducted jointly by Nasima Merchant, Vijaya Tecksingani and Namita 'Prakash'. They will introduce the author Syed lmtiaz Ali Taj and his iconic character, Chacha Chakkan, and read aloud some humorous stories of Chacha Chakkan.

Syed lmtiaz Ali Taj (1900-1970) was a Pakistani prose and drama writer, famous for his Urdu translation of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', and 'Anarkali', a landmark play that was later adapted to films in India (‘Mughal-e-Azam’) and Pakistan. He also wrote radio plays, novels, short stories and film scripts.
