GyaanAdab and Neerja Kreations presents.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we celebrate the creativity, intellectual talent and indomitable spirit of women –  as seen through their verses.

Our extravaganza of poetry, music and dance shines the spotlight on some hidden gems of Urdu ‘shaayari’ written by women over the last three centuries. Living in times when women had no rights and little freedom for creative pursuits, these poetesses are inspiring icons.

From the daughter of Aurangzeb and wife of Wajid Ali Shah to the more recent Amrita Pritam and Anjum Rahbar, our ‘mehfil’ presents female thought and emotion, breaking through ‘purdah’ and overcoming obstacles to find expression in eloquent ‘shaayari’.
