Published in 2018, “An American Marriage” is an Oprah’s Book Club selection and also appeared on Barack Obama’s summer reading list. The young protagonists of the novel seem to be the embodiment of the American Dream but things go horribly wrong for them. The novel provides a glimpse of a situation where people must reckon with the past while moving forward into an uncertain future.

NY Times best-selling author Tayari Jones is a Professor of Creative Writing at Emory University and at Cornell. She has published 4 novels to date. She was awarded the Women’s Prize for Fiction for “An American Marriage”.
