EMERGE – Curated by Susan Bullough Khare

3rd-10th January 2016 (Sun-Sun)

EMERGE was a group art show presenting emerging artists from Gyaan Adab. It was curated by Susan Bullough Khare. In an effort to promote gifted young artists who have demonstrated a high degree of creative talent and a commendable commitment to their art, Gyaan Adab, in association with art educationalist and therapist Susan Bullough Khare, is delighted to present the work of Ishita Dharap, Patanjali Bhati Thakkar, Sam Bullough and Sameer Dixit. Ruby Jhunjhunwala inaugurated the exhibition, following which she conversed with each artist individually about their work and what exactly makes them tick.

The programme included a group show of their excitingly different works, workshops for young people and adults, opportunities for schools and visitors to meet and talk with the artists about their work. Indeed, a plethora of things happened during the course of the exhibition. Sameer Dixit brought forth a live demonstration of his art as he painted throughout the course of another event. Just before the finale, the four artists began working on a magical group piece that was unveiled during the evening. The finale of the exhibition included a summary of the exhibition and the workshops it entailed, along with a Kathak performance that merged both dance and art. For the future, Gyaan Adab plans to initiate shows of this exhibition at various galleries in the city of Pune.
