On June 8th, Gyaan Adab through its initiative Guldasta-e-Urdu, celebrated the works of writer and humorist, Padma Shri Mujtaba Hussain. The late author who passed away earlier this year on May 20th will always be known for his satirical take on everyday situations.
He had a rich career spanning 54 years during which he became popular for his creative stories. Some of which are Sahab Bathroom Mein Hain, Ghazal Supplying and Manufacturing Company Pvt. Unlimited among others.
Our panelists for the evening – Mrs. Shamshad, Kanchan Tripathi, Vijaya Tecksinghani , Nasima Merchant, Namita Prakash, Dr. Tahera and Dr. Nasreen took us through the life of the Mujtaba Hussain and his journey as a writer. Mumtaz Peerbhoy was our compère for the evening.
The evening came to a close with eminent Urdu poet, Dr. Nazeer Fatehpuri’s, recitation of an original poem which commemorated the life of Mujtaba Hussain.
