Gyaan Adab invites you to the screening of the National Award winning documentary GOONGA PEHELWAN.
“A documentary that follows India’s most successful deaf athlete on his journey to try and become India’s first disabled athlete to participate in the able bodied Olympics. It won the ‘Best Debut Film – Non Feature’ award at the 62nd National Film Awards in 2015.”
ABOUT THE DIRECTORS
Mit Jani’s tryst with films began when he made his first short documentary titled Miya Mahadev. Having seen a lot of documentaries, he was excited with the medium to present stories about people and show it to a larger audience. Prateek Gupta has been involved with photography ever since his under graduate days and has been handling the camera for well over 7 years now. His filmmaking journey too began with Miya Mahadev. Vivek Chaudhary’s first experience with film began as a Research Assistant on Miya Mahadev. Having been a part of various festivals primarily focusing on documentaries, Vivek had a keen eye for films about real people and using the medium of film to bring these stories out.
