Gyaan Adab invites you to ‘Sarir-e-Khamma’, an acoustic interactive musical session presented by Highway 61, where emphasis is on lyrics, poetry and stories of the songs.
Thoughts become Words and express the need to become eternal on paper.
We all write: either as compulsion or passion.
We all read what is written but have we tried to hear it?

The sound made by that little nib as it meets the sheet of paper tells you more than the words it creates. When the pen screeches fast and loud the words written are sure to create an altercation when read. Soothing silky sound instead, will nurture an expression soon. The pausing sound of a stopping pen belongs to an intense writer just as the silent sound to the enlightened soul.
This sound of a pen signs treaties in one era and recreates the history for another era to read. And to reach as many ears as it can these words merge into the art of melody/music to create sarir-e-khamma.

Highway 61 is a “Sufi Ethnic” music group based in Pune. The band has been creating and performing music since 2008. Their music embodies “Music, Expression, Freedom” – a fusion of classic rock with Urdu/Kashmiri lyrics.
The band has earned immense recognition since their the first performance at Shanivarwada (Pune) in 2009, after which they went on to win 10 national rock band competitions.  Highway 61 was featured on NDTV Prime time as a part of their feature “Masters of world music” on 3rd Dec 2014. On the same day Highway 61 shared the stage with international artist Viuex Farka Toure. The band recently finished recording an OST, ‘Sahibo’ for a film titled 19th January based on Kashmir.
The band is currently recording their debut album titled ‘Alif’
