SUMMARY:Of Land And Sea
DESCRIPTION:ISLAND WORLDS: A Photographic Exhibition by Pankaj Sekhsaria \nThis exhibition is as much a story\, in images\, of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands\, as it is a series of windows through which we look out at a world of mystery and charm that we know so little about. Washed by a rolling green and blue sea this fragile world is rich with startling lyricism. Ancient turtles nesting on desolate beaches\, translucent jellyfish floating in warm tropical waters\, giant rainforest trees holding up the heavens\, whistling teals in the soft light of a reflected moon…turning away is a challenge as we are drawn into vibrantly beautiful island worlds. Specially reproduced on silk and framed elegantly\, these images offer a new aesthetic experience. \nPankaj Sekhsaria grew up in Pune and has been working and researching in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands for the last two decades. He is a freelance journalist\,  academic and author of The Last Wave – an island novel\, a story based in the Andaman Islands. He has authored/edited three other\, non-fiction books\, two of which are based in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This is his 2nd photographic exhibition. \nExhibition inauguration: 13th February 2016\, Saturday\nTime: 6:00 PM. \nENTRY FREE \n  \n  \nSINGING THE SEA\nA New Concert by MYSTIC \nInspired by the exhibition ISLAND WORLDS\, Mystic\, India’s first poetry-music band\, will evoke the spirit of the sea with guitarist Majid Aziz\, flautist Deepak Bhanuse and poet-vocalist Randhir Khare. SUMMARY:Sojourn
DESCRIPTION: The Stories That Feet Tell\nAn Exhibition of Drawings By Sucheta Siddha \n\n\nFrom infancy to adulthood and beyond\, our feet feature in numerous social\, cultural\, community and religious customs\, beliefs and practices. But these don’t leave any impression on the stories of our lives. People do. Those who walk in and out of our lives leave footprints that knowingly or unknowingly change the paths of our lives for better or for worse and in the process alter our perspectives. \nIn this exhibition\, Sucheta Siddha uses the essential form of feet to explore this complex and many faceted experience in order to provide multiple perspectives for the viewer – from which life and relationships can be viewed. The drawings on display in this exhibition have been selected from her series of 150 thematic works that explore life and relationships using the image of feet. \nHer line drawings are sharply defined\, confident and energetic. Their immediacy is evident as they connect with our lives at an essential level. The physical is reinforced and made symbolic\, challenging the viewer to also look at larger emotional\, social and ethical implications. Borne out of deep internal experience and reflection\, the drawings express the emerging accomplishment of a talented artist. \n  \nSucheta Siddha has had one solo show and has participated in two group shows. She has an  MA in Fine Arts  (SNDT\, Pune)\, Art Master ( Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalay\, Pune) and Applied Art Diploma(Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalay\, Pune)\, and wide experience in art education in schools\, art direction in print media newspapers and weeklies\, in-house publications of industrial houses and has led design and marketing initiatives in the laminate industry. \nDate: 12th March 2016\, Saturday.\nInauguration: 6.30 pm on March 12th\, Saturday. \nThe exhibition will remain open from 12th-25th March 2016. \nENTRY FREE \n

SUMMARY:Film Screening - Bhopal Diaries and A World Within Four Walls
DESCRIPTION:Gyaan Adab invites you \nto the screening of films \nBHOPAL DIARIES\nand \nA WORLD WITHIN FOUR WALLS\nBhopal Diaries: Bindu\, a naive immigrant woman in Bhopal makes mobile videos of herself talking about everyday incidents and sends it to her husband Mohan – a soldier\, away on duty protecting the nation’s borders.
