SUMMARY:TWO OFFERINGS
DESCRIPTION:Two poets. Two artists. Two women. Two offerings.\nGyaan Adab brings you exceptional voices of two women who explore the same mediums with distinctly different ideas\, spaces and identities. The poets will offer their individual works in the form of art and poetry for the audience to engage in. \nAbout Christine Herzer\n“I have a pain. I have a pain in language. My lover\, language\, can be owned by anyone\, never takes a stand\, accepts everything. Language does not needlove me. I’m a poet. I’m not a beautifier. I’m interested in what must be claimed.”\nChristine Herzer is a poet\, visual artist and teacher. She received her MFA from Bennington College. In 2013\, she performed her poetry at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in Mumbai and her artworks were shown in Paris at La Cité Internationale des Arts\, Galerie Evi Gougenheim and the Galerie Ivana de Gavardie. Her writing appears in numerous international literary magazines such as Fence\, American Letters & Commentary\, and The New York Quarterly.\nShe will be reading work from her manuscript EXI[S]T A LANGUAGE.\nFor more information visit http://christineherzer.tumblr.com/ and http://poets.nyq.org/poet/christineherzer. \nAbout Dipalle Parmar\n“A leaf ‘Offering’ its vein-greened \n body to the ground –\n laying still until browned.”\nHaving travelled through the turbid waters of life with the oars of poetry and art Dipallé paddled to find meaning in the mystery of this world and the ‘other’. Learning to respect her gift of clairvoyance has been central to her journey of two decades. Poetry and stories visit her relentlessly and now are ready to be shared once again. Her art has been shown in India & Italy. Her first book “Not a Word is Heard” was published in 2010 and a book length Fable for children is soon to be released. Dipallé is a poet\, artist\, story teller & Founder-Director at ConsciousCare India. You may see her work on www.sonnyspace.com and www.dipalle.com \n  \n
