DESCRIPTION:GYAAN ADAB \nInvites you to \nAAHIL \nAn evening with RAHGIR – The Travelling Bard \nABOUT THE EVENT \nWe invite you to a heart-warming evening of soulful folksy acoustic music and gripping storytelling with Rahgir\, a man of many talents. Aahil was both. He knew that he was heading to a place where he would be able to live with peace but\, he also knew that there was no such place in the world. He was introduced to hatred and dreams about the same time in childhood\, and when hatred and dreams are together in someone’s life\, his story can never be ordinary. \n\nDate: Sat\, 6th Apr 2019\nTime: 6 PM\nDonation Pass: Rs.50

SUMMARY:For the Love of Jazz
DESCRIPTION:GYAAN ADAB \nIn association with \nPUNE JAZZ & BLUES CLUB \nPresent \nFor The Love of Jazz \nJazz in Hollywood Pt.2 \nAOUT THE EVENT \nIn continuation to the session conducted in January on ’Jazz in Hollywood’ we discovered how rich the anthology of using jazz in movie soundtracks or as movie themes is and thus decided to have Part II of this session to cover some choice music from the movies from the 60s and beyond. \nDuke Ellington and Gerry Mulligan were among other musicians called in to provide the music. Illustrious movie composers like Lalo Schifrin\, Jerry Goldsmith and Michel Le Grande used jazz. \nClint Eastwood\, a long time jazz aficionado put his heart and his wealth to produce movies on Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk. Robert Altman produced ‘Kansas City’. ‘Paris Blues’ became an iconic film. ‘The Pink Panther’ tune by Henry Mancini was on everyone’s lips. And just a couple of years ago ‘Whiplash’ which used a jazz drummer as theme artiste earned an Oscar. \nRammesh Venugopal will come in from Bombay to handle this sequel as he did last time \nDATE: Sunday 10th Mar\nTIME: 11 AM\nENTRY FREE \n
