GHANA – The Life of a Culture
February 27, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - March 4, 2016 @ 6:30 pm

Celebrate the culture and art of Ghana through Manisha Vedpathak’s exhibition, an audio-visual presentation, a sampling of delicious snacks and an interactive session with the artist about her experiences living in this West African country.
Manisha’s bold work expresses the energy of the country’s cultural life – folk dancers, musicians, tribal symbols and the motherhood of Africa. The show will engulf you in a new and vibrant experience as you are exposed to her creations in acrylic on canvas characterized by vivid colors, complex composition and raw energy.

Manisha Vedpathak is a contemporary artist who recently relocated to her hometown –Pune, after a stay of over two decades in West Africa. Art has been her passion since childhood but it was only after going to Ghana in 1994 that she began thinking of developing her artistic abilities. Over the years, she has evolved from realism to abstraction.
